What is AMETHYST

One material we’re very fond of using in our jewellery creations is Amethyst.  Amethyst is a gemstone that is actually Crystalline quartz in shades of purple, lilac or mauve.

Amethyst is sometimes used as a dream stone and to help insomnia.  It can also be used as a meditation aid when worn as a necklace.  It can help relieve headaches.

Amethyst has healing properties.  Healers usually wear several pieces of jewellery with amethysts set in silver, especially an amethyst necklace.  The person being healed will hold amethyst and also have a piece of amethyst on the part of the body being healed.

Amethyst is used for problems in the blood and in breathing problems. Amethyst crystal clusters are used to keep the air and life force in the home clean and positive.
