Let us Introduce Ourselves

Let us introduce ourselves

Bead Inspired is 2 years old and is run by 2 very good friends - Kerry Kasmeris and Lisa Gawler.  We bead from home in  Plympton South and Glandore respectively, South Australia.

A couple of years ago we attended a women's centre beading course together.  At the time it was for leisure, we had no idea where it would take us.  We both found we loved making beading items so much, before we knew it we were drowning in our finished items, not knowing what to do with it, still wanting to make more.  There is only so much jewellery a girl needs and yes I know it's a lot but we had a ridiculous amount.

So, on 28th May 2010, we took the plunge and debuted at a Ladies Market at our local Kindy.  We were so nervous - was our jewellery going to be sale-worthy?  Would anyone buy it?  Well, we got really good comments and made really good sales.  It's so wonderful to have a passion for making something and have people buy it, wear it and recommend it - it really is a dream come true.

Since then we've done many more markets and continue to.  It's our main outlet for selling our jewellery however we also sell on Etsy and Madeit and at home parties as well.  Friends and previous customers also buy by way of picking up or having their purchases delivered.

Each month we each research a new project and work on it so we can constantly evolve and learn new jewellery making techniques.  We are always on the look out for new and exciting materials from our favourite suppliers and also in op shops and at markets.  There's never a dull moment and it really is a joy.

Kerry lives with her husband and 2 sons (5 and 8) in South Plympton.  She enjoys reading, socialising, knitting, cross-stitching and beading.  She is the organised, symetrical, patterned person in the partnership.

Lisa lives with her husband and daughter (8) in Glandore.  She enjoys reading, listening to music and beading.  She is the opposite of Kerry, making quite chunky, abstract type creations at times.  Lisa works in organised chaos.

Well, that's Bead Inspired's story.  We invite you along for the ride, hopefully it's a long and successful one.  It is our hope that as long as there's passion, Bead Inspired will be here.

Kerry and Lisa
